Pa Langga’s Café: A Story of Friendship, Passion for Food, and Love for Students

Updated: Mar 28, 2023

The heartwarming story of Pa Langga’s Café began with a great friendship, a passion for food, and a love for the students. The owner Leslie Jane P. Cruz and Lourdes D. Ong were childhood best friends who lost touch during their college days. After two decades of not seeing each other, they finally reunited in Manila, where they both pursued different careers.

After 16 years of living in Manila, Lourdes decided to go back home to Sapad, Lanao del Norte, and convinced Leslie to join her in starting their business.

Pa Langga, which means “love” in their local language, was born in 2013 in Sapad, Lanao del Norte. The business started with selling siomai, halo-halo, cake, lechon, and other popular food items. With Lourdes’ passion for food and love for students, Pa Langga expanded its operations to the Lanao del Norte National Comprehensive High School in 2015, serving nutritious and delicious food to the students.

Despite the challenges brought about by the pandemic, Pa Langga’s Café remained steadfast in its mission to serve the best food to its customers. In addition to their regular menu, they started selling bila-o packages, lechon belly, cordon bleu, empanada, and leche flan, perfect for family gatherings or small parties.

Pa Langga’s Café recently opened a new branch located in Bag-ong Dawis, Baroy, Lanao del Norte, near the Baroy Town Hotel. The owners, Leslie and Lourdes, are proud to have their business grow and serve more people with their delicious and nutritious food offerings.
